A real mixed day of emotions. Over night the flood reached its peak, I was almost tempted to stick out my big toe to feel if there was any water on the floor but we were fine and so were the surrounding suburbs. The water didn't reach the level expected but the devastation is unbelieveable, it's heartbreaking. After a quick drive to the river to check on Aunty's place on the other side we decided to head down the coast to make the most of Daddy's last day off.
The ferry terminal and walkway underwater, but Aunty is fine. |
We had a quick wonder around Surfers, a bit of lunch and then drove up to the spit. Lydibug doesn't mind wearing her hat and actually kept on her sunnies. On the beach we saw a few dogs bounding about. A labrador came to say hello and Lydi whispered her first "Oof-oof", it was so cute! She also had her first paddle in the sea and loved it. I swear if I had let her go she would have swam off, I'll try and upload the video tomorrow.
Go Lydi! She's really loving that water! I'm really looking forward to reading about your adventures on here!
